European Accessibility Act (Directive (EU) 2019/882)

The European Accessibility Act (EAA) is a 2019 EU directive that entered into force on 28 June 2025. It requires accessibility for products and services ranging from e-commerce and banking to e-books and transport ticketing. Conformance is demonstrated through EN 301 549, which is built on WCAG 2.1 Level AA.
